William Marshall Newton

Bill Marshall was born January 9, 1928 in Whittier, California to Austin and Mildred (McDougal) Newton. He passed away on September 7, 2011 at the age of 83.Bill attended South Whittier Grammar School and graduated Whittier High School in 1946.He participated in football and track and after high school, joined the United States Army. He served in Korea from November 1946 - January 1948. While in the service he played football on the 7th Division team which won the Far East Championship, January 1st, in Tokyo.Following his discharge, he attended Fullerton Junior College and later Los Angeles Trade Tech.Bill married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Allison in 1949 and they have been married for 62 years. To them, two children were born, Dennis and Gayle.Bill worked for Southern California Edison Company for 35 years.He also enjoyed his woodwork shop, traveling and Lazy Daze Caravan RV outings.His is survived by his wife Marilyn, children Dennnis and Gayle, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grand child on the way.
