Claxton, William Larry was born on September 9, 1926, and went to heaven on May 29, 2017, at the age of 90 years old. Larry was a loving, honorable man who was adored by his family and respected by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, his beloved Joan Elizabeth (Walters) Claxton. His Joie, who he honored and cherished to the very end, died previously on July 13, 2011. They both will be forever remembered by his daughter Sharon (Jeff) and son Randy (Amanda) and missed by his four grandchildren, Jason, Lindsey, Chris and Mark as well as several great-grandchildren Emmalee, Julianna, Bella and Arrianna.
William (otherwise known as Larry), was a native San Diegan and a pharmacist by profession. He served in World War II in the Navy . He will be immeasureably missed by his family and friends. His wife Joan was a wonderful homemaker. Together they built a wonderful and meaningful life together. They attended Fletcher Hills Presbyterian Church and were involved in various volunteer activities.
He was interred with Joan overlooking San Diego Bay at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetary on July 12, 2017 in honor of his service. He was an amazing man who lived a long and fruitful life and was successful by any standard of measurement.
