William Bill Timothy was born on April 17, 1924 to William Joseph and Catherine Voltoline Timothy. He and his two siblings, John James and Vera Timothy (Libordoni) were raised in Adams, Massachusetts.
As a young man, Bill served his country in World War II. He was a Prisoner of War in Germany from December 1944 to April 1945. As a result of this, Bill was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
As a profession, Bill was a bricklayer and a member of the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers. He was also a Life Member of the Moose Lodge and Elks Club.
The last 33 years of his life, Bill lived in Garden Grove and Whittier, California. Bill enjoyed traveling the coast of California in his RV and playing pool with his pool hall buddies at the Whittier Senior Center. He also spent many years with Helen Kleeman, his longtime companion and friend.
On Friday, September 27, 2013 at the age of 89, Bill passed away in La Mirada, California. He is survived by his nieces and nephews: Robin Timothy (Jacksonville, Florida) John Timothy (Pismo beach,CA) JoEllen Sarage (Springfield, MA) Michael Davine (Adams, MA) Linda Korche (Grand Isle, VT) Kathy Carli (North Adams, MA)
Sally Lussier (Oxford, MA) and Guido Libordoni his brother in-law (North Adams, MA).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 beginning at 11am at White Emerson Mortuary in Whittier, California.
