William Bill Stocz, 75, passed away on March 8, 2018 in Fullerton, California. Born on August 11, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio, Bill was born to his parents, Vendel & Mary (Magyar) Stocz. Bill was an incredible family man and had a deep impact on the lives of those who knew him.
Growing up in Ohio, Bill was raised in the communities of Cleveland and North Royalton. He also attended school in Parma, Ohio. Bill went into the military, serving in the US Army. He served for 3 years in the Army, earning a Sharpshooter decoration. After being discharged from his duties, Bill moved west, settling in Whittier, California. He attended Rio Hondo College and began a career in law enforcement. He was a Marshall until his department merged with the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department, making him a Sheriff. Much of his time spent on duty was in the LA County Courts. Bill served the city of Los Angeles for over 30 years before retiring.
Bill had many interests that kept him active throughout his life. He always kept his mind sharp by working on crossword puzzles and reading. He spent times in reflection while painting. And he never passed up an opportunity to stay at the beach. Bill also attended St. Brunos Catholic Church in Whittier, strengthening his faith in God.
Bills son, Michael, remembers his father as a stabilizing force in the lives of his family members. Bill always had strength and love to give to those he called family. He was the proud father to Sharon, Robert & Michael, whom he had from his first marriage. Then through the lives of his children, Bill met June Denise Dixon, who was the mother to some of his kids close friends. Bill and Denise were married in 1997 in Whittier. Bill opened his heart and grew his family by welcoming Denise and her children, Brett, Jeanine & Alicia, into the Stocz family. Bill & Denise celebrated 20 years of marriage before his passing, and together with Denise they created many wonderful memories and traditions together.
Bill is survived by his wife, Denise; children, Sharon, Robert, Michael, Brett, Jeanine, and Alicia; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 6 siblings.
