Vera L. Nicassio

Vera L. Nicassio was born March 29, 1924 in Los Angeles, California to Michael and Amalia (Cardenas) Lopez. She passed away August 19, 2010 in Whittier, California at the age of 86.Vera grew up and went to school in Los Angeles, and she lived in Whittier for the past 35 years. She married Tony Nicassio January 8, 1945 in Reno, Nevada and they raised three children. Vera loved music and dancing, and she loved to socialize. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Whittier and was involved with teh Whittier Seniors.Mrs. Nicassio is survived by her daughters, Diane Serrano and Linda Arenibas; son, Anthony Nicassio; grandsons, Richard Beller and Gilbert Diaz; granddaughters, Annette and Suzanne Diaz and Kim Serrano; four great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.Viewing will take place from 9-10 am on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 E. Philadelphia St., Whtitier, CA 90601. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 am that same morning at St. Mary's Church, 7215 Newlin Ave., Whittier, CA 90602, with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 966 N. Portrero Grande Dr., Montebello, CA 90640.
