Troy Osborne

Clarence Dee Troy Osborne was born May 13, 1921 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma to Harold and Rose (Jones) Osborne. He passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012 in Whittier, California at the age of 91.



'Troy', as he was known, grew up in Oklahoma, Michigan and Missouri. After high school he joined the US Army. He served honorably in the Pacific Theatre of World War II. Upon his discharge, he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he became a furniture maker and upholsterer.



Mr. Osborne married Betty Ruth Calton in 1953 in Los Angeles, California. They moved to Whittier, California in 1964 and have lived there ever since. To their union came on daughter, Rosanne. Troy will be remembered as a very positive, friendly man who was very proud of his family. 'He made me feel like I could do anything,' Rosanne recalls. He enjoyed golfing and gardening, and he was a fabulous dancer.



Troy is survived by his dear wife, Betty; daughter, Roseanne Branham; grandson, Travis Branham; granddaughter, Heather Branham; and 4 great-grandchildren.



Burial will take place at 11:30am on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:30pm that same day at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 E. Philadelphia St., Whittier, California.
