Thomas Vincent Kenaley

Thomas Vincent Kenaley was born May 27, 1927 in Mapleton, Iowa to Jerimia and Myrtle (Livermore) Kenaley. He passed on June 17, 2011 in Hacienda Heights, California.Tom grew up and attended schools in Anthon, Iowa. Following high school he enlisted in the United states Navy on October 10, 1944, and served in in WW 11 as a Radioman. He received his honorable discharge on March 10, 1948 at the Naval Station in San Diego, California.Tom attended Wayne State Teachers College in Nebraska and graduated with his BA degree. In addition, he graduated with his Masters Degree from Long Beach State College, Long Beach, California.He was married to Elizabeth Carr in 1948 until her passing in 1968. In 1969 Tom married Virginia Buffone and they have enjoyed 42 wonderful years together. Mr. Kenaley began his teaching career in Iowa before moving to Southern California in the late 1950's to accept a teaching position in the Anaheim School District. He progressed from teacher, counselor, vice principal, and principal at several different schools until his retirement.His hobbies and interests included fishing, camping and family activities. Tom also took great joy in attending the many sporting and political events of his children and grandchildren.He is a member of St. John Vianney church in Hacienda Heights, Califonia.Mr. Kenaley is survived by his wife, Virginia; son, Patrick Kenaley; daughter, Pamela Seifert (Bill);daughter, Peggy Kenaley; daughter, Tonya Umberg (Jay); daughter, Charlotte Tosti (John); son Tom Kenaley (Angela). He is also survived by his sister, Maryann Ison. He was preceeded in death by his son, Timothy Kenaley. He has 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at St. Brunos Catholic Church, 15740 Citrustree Road, Whittier, California, at 10 a.m.Burial will take place at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, California on June 29, 2011, at 1 p.m.
