Teresa Lee Gutridge, 64, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at her home in La Mirada, California. A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Faith Community Church, 15315 Leffingwell Road in Whittier, California.

Teresa was born on December 2, 1952, in Huntington Park, California, to Donald Lee and Janice Eileen (Clay) Murphy. She was the eldest of four children. She grew up and went to school in La Mirada, California, graduating from Neff High School in 1970 High School.

On March 5, 1971, Teresa married the love of her life, Mark Gutridge, in Whittier, California. Teresa and Mark initially made their home in La Habra and Fullerton, California, but eventually made their way back to La Mirada where they raised their three children, Matthew, Kimberly, and Tiffany.

A totally selfless person, everyone else always came first to Teresa. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and was blessed to be able to stay home with her children. She was very involved in their activities, especially Girls Softball, and enjoyed serving the community. Teresa was in charge of the Girls Softball League snack shack for about 17 years, and she also spent several years cooking for the homeless. As a grandmother, Teresa was elevated to Taxi Driver, always making herself available to give with a ride to here or there. She will be remembered as a wonderful seamstress and baker who never let those, or any other activity, interfere with a Dodgers game!

Teresa will be remembered as a kind and compassionate person who was ever giving of herself to help and care for others. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Mark; children, Matthew (Tracey) Gutridge, Kimberly (Vicente) Santiago, and Tiffany (Jimmy) Bertram; mother, Janice Murphy; brothers, David and Dennis Murphy, and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Murphy and her sister, Anita.
