Sylvia Aguirre

A limb has fallen from our family tree…

Sylvia, our beautiful daughter, sister, partner, cousin, Tia, and friend was called to Heaven, too soon, on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Sylvia lived 56 years here on Earth. She was born on December 14, 1967 in East Los Angeles and then moved to Montebello, where she attended Schurr High School and East Los Angeles College. Sylvia started working early in her life for Gateway Mattress Company where she became a Manager and Personal Assistant to the Owner. She decided to retire after 35 years at Gateway Mattress Company and created a life with Hector and their fur baby, Mijo, in the city of Whittier.

Sylvia was one of a kind, unique in every way. She was a lovely person with an amazing heart. She was always kind and considerate, even to the homeless. She was part of a homeless ministry at Calvary Chapel La Mirada where she volunteered every Saturday to feed the homeless with much love and dedication towards everyone. Sylvia was always a caring individual concerned about her parents and family. She loved her family and was extremely dedicated to the goodness of her family. 

Sylvia was a God-fearing woman full of life. She loved people, to say the least. Remembered for her vivacious spirit and love for others, she could walk into a room and dazzle everyone with her humor and that beautiful smile. Sylvia loved making new friends wherever she went. She was well known for her love for style and fashion and always looking stunning. 

Sylvia’s sudden death leaves us thinking of what we all have learned from her and with her through the years. The love she shared with us as well as all the times that now become memories have left an imprint of her in our hearts. Though no longer by our side, she will live in our hearts forever. 

We will miss Sylvia dearly. We love and appreciate her and thank God for the woman that he made her to be. We know she’s in a better place in the presence of God.
