Shirley Jeanne (Martin) Woodland passed away on December 6, 2014 in La Habra Heights, California. She was born on April 24, 1929 in Ogden Utah to parents, Mary and Frank Martin. She was the oldest daughter with two sisters, Pat and Sally.
Her family moved to California in 1934. She attended El Monte High School, graduating in 1946. She then attended Chaffee Junior College and graduated with a two year degree in business; she was very skilled in shorthand and 10 key.
Shirley married Vernon Ray Woodland on September 25, 1949 in Pasadena, California; they were later sealed in the St. George temple.
Shirley was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities, most often with the Primary organization with children 18 months to 12 years. She also served with her loving husband in the Los Angeles temple for 23 years.
Her parents, Mary and Frank Martin, preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Vernon R. Woodland, two sons, Tim (Sally) Woodland, Todd (Julie) Woodland and one daughter, Joan (Virgil) Johnson, 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
