When we think of Shirley Mom these words come to mind: strength, energy, power, and a force to be reckoned with! We like to think of her as a miracle worker. She showed up, she made things happen, she made the impossible become possible, she may have been small in stature but she was larger than life! When Shirley walked, or rather jumped into a room, she stood taller than all the rest and she knew she looked good doing it!
Shirley was born on January 2, 1937 in International Falls, Minnesota to Irvin and Florence Blumer. She went to Chisholm High School and graduated with the class of 1955 after which, she became a flight attendant after graduation.
Shirley loved holidays, her cat, Honey, and most of all her family. She couldnt wait for the Friday night football game to watch Amber cheer or a pageant to see Ms. Long Beach get crowned. Also she was always up for jumping in the pool with her grandson Isaiah.
Throughout Shirleys life, the ups, the downs and the struggles and the sacrifices, she managed to be the glue that held her family together. She represents the true meaning of the word mother in every sense. She gave of herself through generosity and confidence and she was our everything. She will be truly missed.
Shirley believed that there is a God and that there is a life after this one where we will meet again in heaven.
Shirley is survived by a mother: Florence wood, son Brian (Karen) Bana, daughter, Jennifer Bopp, and three grandchildren Kristin and Amber Bopp and Isaiah Bana.
