Sharon Picco Knox

March 5, 1943 — January 5, 2017

Sharon Picco Knox was born March 5, 1943, in Waterbury, Connecticut, to Joseph Francis and Nellie Daisy (Bradley) Picco. She grew up, went to school, and fell in love in Thomaston, Connecticut. On October 3, 1960, Sharon married her sweetheart, David Knox, in Litchfield, Connecticut. They made their home in Thomaston and started their family.

In 1967, Dave was transferred to California and the family settled in La Mirada. A year later, Dave and Sharon decided to branch out on their own. They founded Dave Knox Plastics in Santa Fe Springs, California, and were blessed with success. The company continues today under the direction of their son, Dave.

Sharon took advantage of the best Southern California offers. She enjoyed spending time in the mountains and going to the beach. Pets were a source of joy for herespecially dogs. You would always find a furry friend or two in her home. Shopping and sharing were also among her favorite pastimes. She was extremely generous and giving to others. She was a friend to all she met, always lending a listening ear and words of encouragement. She was supportive of all her husbands endeavors and found pleasure traveling with friends later in life. Above all else, she loved her family!

Though she did not regularly attend church, Sharon was a woman of faith. She trusted Christ alone for her salvation, and she loved as He loved. She will be remembered for her fun and loving personality, her good sense of humor, her generosity, and her unsurpassed ability to talk on the phone.

On Thursday, January 5, 2017, Sharon passed away at her home in La Mirada, California. She was 73.

She leaves behind her children, Dave (Cheryl) Knox and Tina (Bryan) Bush; grandchildren, Ashly, Jacob and Mathew Knox, Elizabeth (Glenn) Gross, and Joshua, Sarah and Hannah Bush; and her siblings, Barbara (Donald) Testa and Joseph (MaryLou) Picco. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Knox, in 2013.
