Sharon Darlene McMinn

March 3, 1936 — February 9, 2015

Sharon (Newton) McMinn passed away on February 9, 2015 in Whittier, California at the age of 78, due to complications of Alzheimers Disease.

She is now on her way to Heaven!

Sharon has been an absolutely wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Born on March 3, 1936 in Whittier, California, she was married on September 3, 1954 to her best friend, Arlis McMinn for 60 wonderful, loving years.

Her mother and father were Mildred and Austin Newton.

She has three sons, Randy, Ron and Rick, who live in the local area.

Sharon has nine grand children and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She attended school at Loma Vista Elementary, South Whittier Middle School and Whittier High School.

Sharon worked in food services at South Whittier School District for 30 years after her children were enrolled in school.

Sharon's service will be officiated by her nephew, Ret. Army Chaplain Col. Dennis Newton.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 1pm, at White Emerson Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, California (Gate #10 entrance).

After the graveside service there will be a reception at the La Habra Elks Club at 3pm, with food catered by La Casita Olvera Mexican Restaurant.
