Salvador Camacho Perez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated member of his community passed away on August 5, 2024, just one day shy of his 81st birthday. Born on August 6, 1943, in San Martin De Las Flores, Jalisco, Mexico, to Margarito and Cirila Perez, Salvador lived a life marked by devotion to his family and a commitment to his profession both as an Engineer, and leader in his community.
An industrious individual, Salvador spent many years contributing his skills and expertise in engineering at Potter Roemer and Acorn Engineering. His career was a testament to his work ethic and ability to tackle challenges with resilience and integrity.
Education played an important role in Salvador’s life; he attended Loyola University, where he developed a passion for Christian and Pastoral studies. His faith was manifest in his active participation in the church community. He was a devoted member of St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church and took pride in leading the Hispanic Church Group at St. Paul of the Cross. His spirituality formed a cornerstone of his existence, guiding him in his relationships and endeavors.
Salvador’s proudest accomplishment was the love he shared with his wife, Maria Elena Ramirez, whom he married on April 28, 1965, in Mexico. Their marriage of 59 years flourished with deep mutual respect and affection, and together they created a nurturing environment for their 5 children.
Salvador is survived by his wife, Maria Elena Perez, sister Maria Luz Tovar, children, Hector, Jaime, Maricela, Salvador Jr., and Janette, along with 11 cherished grandchildren who were a source of immense pride and joy for him. He greatly valued the time spent with family and friends, often engaging in lively discussions and sharing his love for movies, YouTube and Netflix series and current events.
A Visitation will be held on August 30, 2024, at St. Paul of the Cross located in La Mirada, California, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a prayer service from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM an Rosary at 7:00 PM.
