Sally Howser

May 7, 1955 — February 3, 2024

Sally Lee Howser from Oklahoma, California, and Oregon, passed away in Whittier, California on February 3, 2024 , at the age of 68. Daughter of Caroline Rose Howser of Oklahoma, adopted by her Aunt and Uncle in 1957, William Roy Howser and Betty Howser raised Sally in California with her cousins/ brothers Dennis, Alan, and sisters Linda and Mary Howser. Sally moved to Oregon with her daughter and raised her there before moving back to California in the early 1990s. Not having much money she always made her daugher feel special, spoiled and loved. An animal lover, there were rabbitts, dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, rats, fish, and she even entertained her daughters obsession with turtles. Birthdays were over the top, pizza parties, movies, limos, skating, everyone of them made magical. Holiday decor was up and celebrated and Christmas was her absolute favorite. She was a classic rock fan but you better play some BB King or a lil Disco, she would snap her fingers when she danced. When I became a teenager I made fun of her for that. Arts and crafts, count her in. If it was a antique we probably had it in our house. She could rebuild a carborator and fix or build anything around the house. Thunderstorm watching, singing to songs on the radio and her green thumb. Sally was a jokester and loved to laugh "Silly Sally." Practical jokes were a constant growing up even with the occassional food fight. This was what it was like having Sally as a Mom. Her memory will forever be cheerished by me. Sally passed away at PHI Hospital in Whitter, California she was being taken care of at Rio Hondo subacute care facility in Montebello, California. She is servived by her daughter Deana Lee Ann Howser and grandchidren Erik Troy Brown and Greyson Austin Howser of Oregon, her sister Linda Howser Atterberry of Oregon, brother Alan Howser of Utah and sister Patience Reynolds of Oklahoma, many many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation services provided by White Emerson Mortuary, Whittier, California. Thank you to the friends and family over the years that persisted and countlessly tried to find her for 20 years to be exact. We made a valent effort. Our dedicated love shown shows she will not be forgotten.

O Father of mercies and God of all comfort, our only help in time of need: We humbly ask that you behold, visit, and relieve those who suffer from depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and other mental illnesses. I pray to you Saint Dymphna

Saints of God, come to her aid!

Come to meet her, angels of the Lord! Receive her soul and present her to God, the Most High.

May Christ, who called you, take you to himself; may angels lead you to Abraham's side.

Give her eternal rest, O Lord, and may your light shine on her for ever.

Let us pray.

All-powerful and merciful God, we commend to you, your servant.

In your mercy and love, blot out the sins she has committed through human weakness. In this world she has died: let her live with you for ever. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
