Sally Corral Merchain

Sally Corral Merchain, 91, passed away in Yucca Valley, California, on March 26, 2018. Sally was born on August 28, 1926, in La Habra, California, to Frederico and Everarda (Gomez) Corral. She grew up, went to school, and fell in love in La Habra.

Sally married the love of her life, Philip Merchain, and they settled in the area of La Mirada, California. They were blessed with 10 children, Terry, Philip, Tony, Lydia, Manuel, Linda, David, Elaine, Frank and Richard. A lifelong homemaker, Sally had the privilege of staying at home to raise her children.

A devoted Catholic, Sally found great strength in her faith. Family always came first from her own children and grandchildren to her siblings and their families, Sally loved to be surrounded by family. She was kind and loving, as well as selfless. She found great joy in helping and serving others around her.

Sally is survived by eight of her children, Terry (Gasper) Carranza, Philip (Blanca) Merchain, Tony Merchain, Lydia (Jim) Carrillo, Linda (Kenny) Burrows, David (Virgie) Merchain, Elaine Vasquez, and Frank (Gina) Merchain; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Merchain; and two sons, Richard and Manuel Merchain.

Viewing is scheduled for 5-7pm on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 Philadelphia St., Whittier, California. A vigil will immediately follow at 7pm. Mass will be celebrated at 12noon the next day, Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 900 W. La Habra Blvd., La Habra, California. Interment will immediately follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Rowland Heights, California.
