Ruth Irene Knauls

Ruth Irene Knauls was born July 9, 1927, in Morrilton, Arkansas, to Samuel Sr. and Ocia (Bell) Martin. She grew up and attended school in Menifee, Arkansas. In August of 1946, Ruth married her sweetheart, Frank Cesar Knauls, Jr., in Fort Smith, Arkansas. They were blessed with three children: Ruthie, Rashelle and Frank III.



In 1963, Ruth and her family moved to Los Angeles, California. She was a licensed, professional daycare provider and loved working with children for over 25 years. She was also a loving mother to her own children and a beloved aunt. Her nieces affectionately wrote:

There are aunts to look up to,

aunts who are wise;

those who are good friends,

and those who advise.



There are aunts who are lovable,

aunts who are fun;

and then there is you,

you were all these in one.

Home dcor, flea markets and cooking were all things Ruth found pleasure in. She was a person of faith and attended Olive Grove Church of God in Christ of Los Angeles, California. She enjoyed her involvement there and faithfully served on as a member of the Usher Board.



Mrs. Knauls passed away at the age of 89 on Friday, November 25, 2016, in La Habra, California. She leaves behind her daughters, Ruthie Johnson and Rashelle Peatros; her sister, Minnie Williams; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Cesar Knauls, Jr., and her son, Frank Cesar Knauls, III.



A Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 E. Philadelphia St., Whittier, California.
