Ruth Ann Brown, 58, passed away in Whittier, California on February 23, 2017, surrounded by her family. Born on October 23, 1958 in Bieber, California, Ruth was born her parents William & Elizabeth (Minnick) Iest. Ruth married Robin Rob Brown in San Diego on May 28, 1983 and together they had two children, Zachary & Laura. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.



Although born in northern California, Ruth spent her early years growing up in San Diego. She graduated from Clairemont High School, San Diego, in 1977. Only a few years later she married her husband, Rob, and begin her true vocation of caring for her family. Ruth was a nurturing mother and a loving wife who devoted herself to the well-being and happiness of her family. Evidence of her success is revealed in her children, of whom she was immensely proud, and her marriage of 33 years. Always optimistic, she bravely confronted overwhelming odds and strived for a positive outcome in the most desperate of circumstances. Even in the darkest of times she remained devout and humbly faithful to God. She made the lives of those who loved her richer, and our world is diminished with her passing.



Ruth loved travelling she had many adventures together with Rob. She loved reading. Ruth also enjoyed her participation at St. Marys Catholic Church in Whittier, where her faith was strengthened.



Ruth is survived by her husband, Rob; her children, Zachary W. Brown & Laura Renee Brown; and her brother, Casey Iest.



A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 6th, 2017 at 1:00pm at White Emerson Mortuary, Whittier, California. Interment will immediately follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, California.
