Roy Timothy Caputo was born July 4th, 1960 in Whittier, California, the third child of Eugene and Ruth Caputo. He grew up in Whittier and graduated from La Serna High School. Roy joined the Air Force in his twenties and began his military service on the electronic maintenance crew of the strategic missile forces in Wyoming. Later, he became a flight engineer on C141 cargo aircraft and served in the Desert Storm campaign. Following his Air Force service, Roy attended and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona, Information Technology program. He subsequently taught classes in various Microsoft products, and later earned his teaching credential. He taught for the local ROP program and various local school districts. Roy loved water skiing and equestrian sports in his early years and all things automotive. Later he enjoyed on-line video gaming with friends. He was always willing to help with family projects and picking up everyone from the airport no matter what time of day. In their older years, Roy was the primary care giver for his father and mother until they passed away in 2004 (father) and 2013 (mother).
Roy had deep feelings of faith and in 1990, he was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed attending scripture classes.
He is survived by his sister, Alexis Smart and his brother, Eugene Caputo, jr. He is beloved by all of his many nieces and nephews as the ‘cool’ uncle.
