Robert Moreno Banda

January 16, 1951 — May 28, 2013

Robert Moreno Banda was born January 16, 1951, in Torrance, California, to Trinidad and Porfiria (Moreno) Banda. He passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013, in Fullerton, California.

Bobby, as he was known, grew up and went to school in Torrance. He graduated from Torrance High School and then went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Marine Corp. Following his discharge, Robert went to work in the refinery business. He worked in different capacities, ultimately retiring as an equipment transporter.

Mr. Banda married the love of his life, Elizabeth, and to their union came three children: Yvette, Dillon Robert, and Denise Kristine. Robert loved his family dearly.

In his spare time, Bobby enjoyed fishing, traveling, and gardening. He also had an affinity towards cars/trucks. For a long time, his fathers 1954 Chevy truck was his baby.

Robert is remembered by his family as a crispy marshmallowa bit crusty on the outside, but soft and gooey on the inside. His no-nonsense directness could come across as stern, but he was also a very loving man. He was always on the go and focused on the task at hand. He is also affectionately remembered as a clean-freak.

Survivors include his children, Yvette (Jesse) Lem, Dillon Banda, and Denise Banda; his mother, Porfiria Banda; sister, Yolanda Acosta; brother, Albert Banda; granddaughters, Maureen, Elaine and Rebecca Lem; and grandson, Christopher Rayas.
