Robert Mann Skaggs was born during a blackout on April 9, 1942, in La Habra, California, to Haskell Mann and Alice Mary (Lassiter) Skaggs. He passed away Monday, May 25, 2015, in Brea, California, at the age of 73. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, July 10, 2015, at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.
Bob, as he was known, grew up in Los Angeles County, California, and graduated from Norwalk High School. He went on to Cerritos College and later graduated with a Bachelors degree from Long Beach State University. Bob enjoyed sports and played basketball in high school and tennis in college.
On December 4, 1974, Bob married his sweetheart, Patricia Anne Kermott, in Banning, California. They lived in Long Beach and Huntington Beach, California, before settling in Hacienda Heights where they raised their with two sons, Robert Jr. and Ryan. Family was most important to Bob. He loved his wife and boys dearly, as well as his dogs. He affectionately called them his girls.
Bob will be remembered as a kind, gentle man who was soft spoken and cared deeply about others. As such, he was well-liked by all who knew him. He really enjoyed working with his hands, especially in woodworking and gardening. Eating out and traveling were also among his favorite pastimes.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Robert Jr. and Ryan; his mother, Alice Skaggs; and his sister, Sue Hanson.
