Robert Hunt Kumpe

Robert Bob Hunt Kumpe, 76, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 in Fullerton. Born in Hollywood on January 18, 1941, Bob was born to his parents Carlos and Norah (Hunt) Kumpe. He was a man who was proud of his family, a devoted friend to so many and a patriot of his country. He will be missed deeply by everyone who knew him.

Bob grew up in Glendale where he attended Glendale High School. After high school he attended a local community college where he pursued a major in advertising art. He began his career as a salesman with Sherwin Williams Paint. He was a natural-born salesman, given his passion for serving people. He was an excellent teacher and guide to his clients, which served him well in his 56 years of sales. In 1982, Bob met and married Virginia Jini Kabisch. As Jini describes it, they were just meant to be. They never had a fight in their marriage, which undoubtedly showed Bobs wisdom in always serving and loving his wife. In 2001, they began the adventure of starting their own business in Brea, Auberst Packaging, which is still in operation to this day.

Bob had many interests in life. He enjoyed traveling and trying new things. One thing that always made Bob happy was eating a chocolate chip cookie. He served as a mason, and was also involved at Florence Avenue Foursquare Church in Santa Fe Springs. Keeping busy with all these activities meant so much to Bob, but nothing meant more than time spent with his family. His wife, Jini, puts it best when she says, they just dont make guys like him anymore.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jini; his four children, Kenny, Steven, Kimberly & Jennifer; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him.

A funeral service for Bob will be held on Thursday, December 7th, 2017 at 2:00pm at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 Philadelphia St., Whittier. Interment will immediately follow the funeral at Olive Lawn Memorial Park, La Mirada.
