Robert Howard Garcia

Robert Howard Garcia was born on August 8, 1959 in Los Angeles, California to his parents, Frank & Sally Garcia. Raised in East Los Angeles, Robert attended Harrison Elementary, Torch Middle School in La Puente, CA and Bassett High School in La Puente, CA. After graduating, he then attended college at Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) in Walnut, CA.Through his love for sports, coaching & refereeing, Robert came to meet his wife Cynthia (Cindy as she is more commonly known) and they were married on January 14, 1989 in Las Vegas, NV. Together they were the parents of Adrien Ismael Garcia, Melissa Margaret Garcia, and Noah Jacob Garcia.Robert was diligent at his work and became a Department Manager at Wal-Mart where he worked for almost 10 years. He attended Freedom Christian Church in Santa Fe Springs, CA, and had many hobbies in life, including: football, track, basketball, coaching, collecting basketball cards, and even artistry. Beyond his love for sports and his hobbies, he was a true 'family man.' He loved his family and always taught (by word and example) how to be generous with every aspect of his life, from the time he gave to people to the money he shared with others. Despite losing the battle to cancer, he fought an incredible fight through his journey with this illness. Most of all, he had a true 'gusto' for life.Robert H. Garcia is survived by his wife, Cynthia Garcia; children, Adrien Ismael Garcia, Melissa Margaret Garcia, and Noah Jacob Garcia; his father, Frank Garcia; and 3 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sally Garcia and his sister, Frances Garcia.Funeral services for Robert will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 10:00AM at Freedom Christian Church, 13808 Imperial Hwy #100, Santa Fe Springs, CA. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, January 25, 2012 from 5:00PM - 8:00PM at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 Philadelphia St., Whittier, CA. Interment will be held at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, CA immediately follow the funeral service on Saturday.
