Richard Michael Gleason

Richard Michael Gleason was born October 11, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, to Richard Thomas and Alice Elizabeth (Wener) Gleason. 'Mike', as he was known, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013, at his home in La Habra Heights, California.



Mike grew up and went to school in Los Angeles County, graduating from St. Bernard High School in Westchester. He had a great love of plants and went to work for Mordigan Nursery in Los Angeles as a young man. Mike retired approximately 35 years later when the nursery was sold.



Outdoors is where Mike liked to be. He enjoyed gardening as well as many other outdoor activities. Mike also loved listening to music and watching sports.



Mike will be remembered for the gleam he always had in his eye. He was a gentle soul who was kind and friendly to all.



Survivors include his mother, Alice Gleason, and numerous cousins. He was preceeded in death by his father and his sister, Alice Kathleen Gleason.



Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Friday, May 24, 2013, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 900 W. La Habra Blvd., La Habra, CA 90631. Burial will follow at 1:30 that afternoon at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5835 W. Slauson Ave., Culver City, CA 90230.
