Ramon Lopez

Ramon Lopez was born January 8, 1956 in Paramount, California to Ramon and Dolores Lopez. He passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Torrance, California.'Bug', as he was known, grew up and attended school in Paramount, California. He married Christine Cruz on January 22, 1988, and they made their home in Norwalk, California. They moved to Chino Hills, California in 1994.Ramon began his career as a cement mason at the age of 19. He worked as a Foreman building roads at the time of his death.Few people worked as hard as Ramon. He was very devoted to his job--he was never late and never took vacation. He was proud of his union membership with Cement Masons Local 600.To know 'Bug' was to love him. He was a very simple man who loved his family. He worked hard to provide for them. Ramon liked history and he was always up on current events. He also enjoyed National Geographic, music and working out.Ramon is survived by his children, Jimmy, Maureen, Raymond and Bianca; mother, Dolores; mother-in-law, Marcela Cruz; sisters, Gloria, Marilyn and Rosemary; grandmother, Mary; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous godchildren. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Christine, and his father, Ramon.A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, July 27, 2012, at the First Friends Church, 13205 E. Philadelphia St., 90601. Burial will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier, California.
