Paula Casillas

Paula Casillas was born on April 27, 1923 in Parral Chihuahua, Mexico to parents Jesus and Guadalupe Reyes. She grew up in Juarez, Mexico where in 1951, she married Aniceto Casillas. Paula moved to the United States in 1955, where she made Whittier, California her home for 56 years. She worked until she retired at 62 and then became active at the Santa Fe Springs Senior Center for over 20 years. She was similarly involved at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Los Nietos. Paula enjoyed reading, especially magazines and the newspaper. She loved listening to the radio and shopping with her daughter, Sylvia.Paula passed away on January 29, 2011 in La Habra, California. She is survived by her children Carlos Casillas and Sylvia Chavez as well as by her grandchildren Monica Chavez, Sandra Rivera, Ruben Chavez, Marcus Casillas, and Kayla Casillas.
