Patricia Elaine Makshanoff gracefully departed this life on the morning of May 7th, following a courageous battle against a blood disorder. Throughout her journey, she was surrounded by an abundance of friends and loved ones, who cherished her deeply. Known for her boundless love and generosity, Pat selflessly devoted herself to others, often expressing her affection through handwritten notes of kindness or handcrafted knitted creations.
Born on Saint Patrick’s Day in California to John and Grace Bezayiff, Pat spent her formative years in Fresno before pursuing her passion for microbiology at UCLA. She shared 56 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, William (Bill) Makshanoff, until his passing in 2020. Despite facing health challenges after his departure, she continued to embrace life with unwavering determination, a testament to her faith in God.
Pat is survived by her beloved family: her devoted sons James (Suzanne) and Andrew (Natalie); her adoring grandchildren Hannah (Alex), Luke, Jakob, Alex, Sophia, and Mikayla; her brothers John (Sue), David, and Matthew; her brother-in-laws Nick (Nadya) Makshanoff and Bob Samarin; and many loving nieces/nephews. At the age of 82, she leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched.
Though bidding farewell to someone of such significance is difficult, Pat's enduring impact and affection will be fondly remembered.
We love you dearly, Patty.
