Nelson Alcivar Garzn (Pap), de 80 aos, de Whittier, California, falleci el 12 de abril de 2019, rodeado de su querida familia.

Naci de padres Mara Enriqueta Garzn y Segundo Vallejo, el 19 de diciembre de 1938, en Quito, Ecuador. Creci en el popular barrio de Chimbacalle, donde pas sus aos de juventud y ms tarde en el barrio de La Villa Flora.

Pap estudi en el Colegio Central Tcnico. Era un hbil fabricante de muebles de metal. Se cas con Ambrosia Len, en 1975. Pap se mud a los Estados Unidos a la edad de 43 aos en 1981. All, trabaj como Especialista en Gestin de Documentos. Viva en Bell Gardens, donde trabaj incansablemente y desinteresadamente para enviar por su madre y sus tres hijos. Pap es sobrevivido por su ex-esposa, Ambrosia Len; sus hijos, Nelson (Ofelia) Garzn, Marco (Sonia) Garzn, Marcela (Martin) Rodriguez, Darwin (Tania) Garzn, y Mariana Garzn (Guillermo Acevedo); 14 nietos: Isabella de Nelson, Joevannie (Stephanie), Louie (Jacqueline), Niomi (Rudy), Mathew (Michelle), y Celeste de Marco; Gael, Julian, Melina, Mia, Noel y Miranda de Darwin; y Emma y Thiago de Mariana; y 11 bisnietos: Joevannie Jr., Xavier, Elijah, y Juliette de Joevannie; Hailey, Abigail, Katelynn, y Madison de Louie; Preston de Niomi; y Angelica y Max de Mathew.

Pap se rene con sus padres amorosos Mara Enriqueta Garzn y Segundo Vallejo.

Pap asisti fielmente a misa en Santa Mara de la Asuncin en Whittier.

Pap fue amable, carioso, divertido y devoto padre, abuelo y bisabuelo. El amor y el orgullo que tena por su familia brillaban en sus ojos. Dedic su vida a brindar mejores oportunidades para sus hijos, la educacin siempre fue importante. Pap apreciaba cada momento que tena con sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos. Le gustaba bromear y era muy juguetn. Amaba la msica, los deportes, los animales, especialmente las aves, y desarmar cosas.

Pap era conocido por su amor por el baloncesto, inculc su amor por el baloncesto en sus hijos. Un vido fantico de los Lakers, celebr sus victorias y sufri sus prdidas.

Nelson Alcivar Garzn (Pap), 80, of Whittier, California, passed away on April 12, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born to parents Maria Enriqueta Garzn and Segundo Vallejo, on December 19, 1938, in Quito, Ecuador. He grew up in the popular neighborhood of Chimbacalle where he spent his younger years and later in the neighborhood of La Villa Flora.

Pap studied at the Colegio Central Tecnico. He was a skillful metal furniture maker. He married Ambrosia Len, in 1975. Pap moved to the United States in 1981, at the age of 43. There, he worked as a Document Management Specialist. He lived in Bell Gardens where he tirelessly and selflessly worked to send for his mother and three children.

Through hard work, he purchased a house in Lynwood where he continued to care for his family. He encouraged them as they graduated high school and college. He was committed to his family and made sure to provide the best he could, always encouraging them to continue their studies and achieve their highest potential. After his children married, he retired and moved to Whittier to live with his son, Nelson, daughter-in-law, Ofelia, and granddaughter, Isabela. He was a loving Grandpa with a fun loving spirit. Pap was a humble man whose love and support will always be cherished. He will be missed, but not forgotten.

Nelson is survived by his former spouse, Ambrosia Len; his children, Nelson (Ofelia) Garzn, Marco (Sonia) Garzn, Marcela (Martin) Rodriguez, Darwin (Tania) Garzn, and Mariana Garzn (Guillermo Acevedo); 14 grandchildren: Isabella from Nelson, Joevannie (Stephanie), Louie (Jacqueline), Niomi (Rudy), Mathew (Michelle), and Celeste from Marco; Gael, Julian, Melina, Mia, Noel and Miranda from Darwin; and Emma and Thiago from Mariana; and 11 great-grandkids: Joevannie Jr., Xavier, Elijah, and Juliette from Joevannie; Hailey, Abigail, Katelynn, and Madison from Louie; Preston from Niomi; and Angelica and Max from Mathew.

Pap rejoins his loving parents, Maria Enriqueta Garzn and Segundo Vallejo.

Nelson attended Mass faithfully at St. Mary of the Assumption in Whittier. He was kind, loving, gentle, funny and a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. The love and pride he had for his family shone in his eyes. He dedicated his life to providing better opportunities for his childreneducation was always important. Pap cherished every moment he had with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He liked to joke and was very playful. He loved music, sports, animals, especially birds, and taking things apart.

Pap was known for his love of basketball, he instilled his love of basketball on his sons. An avid Lakers fan, he celebrated their victories and suffered their losses.
