Nancy Reyes

Nancy Guadalupe Reyes, 42, passed away on May 26, 2021 in Loma Linda, California. Born on December 28, 1978 in Los Angeles, California, Nancy was born to her parents, Justino & Teresa (Morales) Reyes. She was the mother of two incredible children, Terri & Troy, and a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend to so many. She will be deeply missed.
Growing up in Los Angeles, Nancy attended Jefferson Elementary School in Inglewood, then Lennox Middle School before attending and graduating from Hawthorne High School. Nancy went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, which was an area of study that she was passionate about. She worked as a Sales Associate in the retail industry at Macy's where her gregariousness and charm came in handy when working with customers. She was also a promoter for Avalon, where she inspired so many she worked with.
Nancy was a "fun," "amazing," and "playful" person according to her children. She was also a fighter. Her spirit was strong. Facing so many challenges to her health over the years, she would never let the odds against her prevail. Often, you would hear her say, "Watch me," when doctors or medical professionals would indicate that she would never experience freedom from debilitating conditions. Perhaps one of the reasons that her spirit was so strong was that she always spoke her mind. Some might say that she didn't have a filter; in reality, she only spoke the truth of what she saw and believed. This is what made her an inspiration to so many. She was fearless.
Nancy loved arts & crafts. She particularly loved drawing, but would also spend countless hours creating beaded crafts for sick children at Children's Hospital - Los Angeles. She loved creating and giving away her creations to help spread love to others. Another pastime of hers was spending time at the beach with her kids. Of all the things that Nancy cared about, her children and family were the most important. Of course, her family could sometimes include complete strangers. This was just the person that she was, and she would always go above and beyond for the people in her life. The world was a better place because of Nancy Reyes.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 4:00pm at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 Philadelphia St., Whittier.
