Monica Palmer Dean was born on November 2, 1928, in Whittier, California, to Forrest and LaVancha (Roulette) Palmer. She passed away on February 22, 2013, in Riverside, California, at the age of 84.
Monica grew up and attended schools in Whittier, graduating from Whittier High School as a life member of the California Scholastic Federation. While in high school she chaired an all-school badminton tournament and earned a letter in girl's athletics.
Following high school, she attended Fullerton Junior College, receiving an Associates of Arts degree in humanities. She was a member of the Alpha Gamma Sigma Socierty and a member of the Theta Nu Theta Soroity.
Monica was married to Edwin 'Ted' Gregg Dean, Jr., in Whittiter, California, on July 16, 1948.
She lived in Whittier for 68 years and worked as Business Assistant with Whittier Union High School District as well as being the co-owner of Palmer's Pet Store.
Monica was a member of the East Whittier Woman's Club, the Whittier Historical Society, First Friends Church, in Whittier, Soroptomist Club and a member of the Whittier Area Chamber of Commerce.
She retired to Huntington Beach for 11 years and then lived in Riverside 5 years.
Her hobblies and interests included, geneology, California history, needlecraft, sewing, interior decorating, gardening, reading and playing the piano.
She is survived by her son, Todd Dean (Marge), daughter, La Vonne Dean Ehlinger (Greg), with 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and sister, Gerry Wolfe.
