Mrs. Lupe Bedoya

Lupe Trejo Bedoya, 93, passed away at her home in Whittier, California on Monday evening, November 10, 2014. Born on December 12, 1920 in Pomona, California, Lupe was born to parents, Calixto & Natalia (Marcus) Trejo. She was married to Robert Bedoya on December 27, 1947, and she was the proud mother of her daughters, Barbara & Teresa. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.



Lupe lived her entire life within the Whittier area. As a young girl, she was raised in Los Nietos. She attended Los Nietos School and graduated from Whittier High School. She went on to receive training as a hairdresser, and worked for various salons throughout Whittier for approximately 35 years. She was passionate about her vocation as a hairdresser, and became very specialized in hair coloring.



Among her many interests she enjoyed jewelry making and ceramics. Her creative skills even extended to her affiliations with her church, St. Gregory the Great, where she helped make rosary beads for the parish. She was active in the community as a faithful supporter of St. Gregorys parish, as well as a member of the Palm Park Seniors Club.



Lupe is survived by her daughters Barbara (Arnold) Carrillo and Teresa (Abe) Barela; her grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, Natalie & Gabriel; eleven great-grandchildren; and her sister Lucille. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Manuel Bedoya (1981).



A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 10:00AM at Lupes home church, St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 13935 Telegraph Rd., Whittier. A Vigil Service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 7:00PM at the church, with a Visitation from 6:00PM 7:00PM at the church. Interment will take place at Rose Hills Memorial Park immediately following the Mass. Condolences to the family can be made at www.WhiteEmerson.com.
