Mrs. Fola Nelson

Fola Nelson was born in Checotah, Oklahoma, to Logan and Corda (Garner) on May 21, 1920.

She passed away on March 27, 2013 at the age of 92.



Fola 's early days were spent in Checotah, Oklahoma and she graduated from Checotah High School.

She met Robert Nelson at a roller rink and they were married in 1939. Following their marriage Robert went into the Army and she came to California to work at Firestone Rubber Company.

They moved to South Gate in 1955. Fola worked at Northrope as a Inspector Leader before retiring after 25 years.

Her hobbies and interests included her grandchildren, casinos, and country western dancing.

Expressions of love by her family include statements of: 'she was strong, loving, caring, witty and a leader.'

Fola is survived by her daughters, JaniceTurley and Robby Vaiangina; grandchildren, Desiree, Johnathan and Kelly, along with 6 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 4, 2013, 11am at White Emerson Mortuary,

Interment will follow at Rose HIlls Memorial Park, 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA, 90602
