Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Miller

Betty Elizabeth Miller was born on January 9, 1920, in Portland, Oregon, to Ralph and Sarah (McMullen) Meats. She passed away on May 29, 2013 in Whittier, California, at the age of 93.

Betty grew up in the Portland, Oregon area and attended the University of Oregon.

She worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in Portland, Oregon, for five years before moving to Maywood, California and eventually to Whittier, California.

She married Carl Miller on June 20, 1946 at Presbyterian Church in Portland, Oregon.

Betty has been very involved at the First Methodist Church in Whittier, California as a Sunday School teacher for over 15 years, and in the library and membership ministries.

She was a very social person with a zest for life and an undefeatable attitude.

She loved to cook, sew, bake, and work in her garden.

The family described her as, incredible, classy, strong, dynamic and still driving at 93 years of age.



She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hastings, son-in-law Arthur Hastings; grand daughters,

Rebecca Giles and Sarah Hastings, along with many friends.



A memorial celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2013, 2pm, at 1st United Methodist Church, 13222 Bailey Street, Whittier, California 90601.
