William John Krulac, Sr., 95, passed away on December 4, 2012 at his home in Whittier, California. He was born on September 15, 1917 in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Mary (Marinich) Krulac.
William grew up in McKees Rocks, PA. He graduated from Stowe High School in 1936. On November 15, 1940 he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He actively served from 1940-1945 with the 901st Air Engineer Squadron in the WWII Campaigns of No. France and Air Offensive Europe. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Following his discharge he was employed by TACA Airways in New Orleans, Louisiana as an aircraft and sheet metal technician.
He and Wildra Lundy were married on February 28, 1942 in Philadelphia, Mississippi. They were married for 70 years and lived in Whittier, CA since 1956. He was employed by Hughes Aircraft Co. and TRW where he played an integral role in the fabrication and manufacturing of the Lunar Landing Module. In 1982, he retired to enjoy travelling and automotive maintenance. William was a parishioner and usher of St. Brunos Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus and VFW.
William is survived by his wife, Wildra, children; Mary Ann (Michael) Mallette of Tempe, AZ, William John (Linda) Krulac, Jr. of Thousand Oaks, CA, and Cynthia Jean Krulac (Marty Stiles) of Elizabeth, CO, and grandchild, Jillian Marie Krulac of Thousand Oaks, CA.
The funeral service and interment will be held on December 17, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California in honor of his service to our country.
