Rudy Espinosa was born December 30, 1928 in Los Angeles, California, to Santos and Louisa (Borrego) Espinosa. He passed away on October 9, 2013 at the age of 84.
Rudy attended elementary and Jr. High schools in the Los Angeles area, as well as Poly Tech. High School.
He was honorably discharged after proudly serving our country in the United States Army and in the Korean Conflict.
Rudy married the love of his life, Clara (Navalta) on March 31, 1951 at St. Teribues Catholic Church in Los Angeles, California.
His work career included being a truck driver for the then, McDonald Douglas aerospace industry.
Rudy had numerous skills and hobbies that included, wood work, playing pool, making toys for not only his children, but for the neighborhood children as well. While in the Army Rudy became a boxer and continued to enjoy the sport by watching boxing on TV with all the neighborhood in his backyard. He also loved dancing, music and art, but his favorite time was being with his family.
Rudy is described as, Loving, Strong, Honorable, Giving, Loyal, Funny and Creative, to name a few.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Clara; children, Larry Espinosa, Cynthia Alvarez, Cathy Baron, and Cheryl Cull; brothers, Raymond Espinosa and Julian Espinosa; sisters, Adela Herrera and Martha Schlisler. He has 10 grand children and 5 great grandchildren.
A vigil will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 7pm, at St. Bruno Catholic Church, 15740 Citrustree Road, Whittier, California, 90603.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Thursday, October 17, 2013, 10am, also at St. Bruno Church.
