Mr. Ronald Alvin Childs

Ronald Ron Alvin Childs, 78, passed away at his home on Tuesday morning, October 10, 2012 in La Mirada, California. Born on July 4, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio, Ron was born to Alvin & Margaret (Davis) Childs. He was married to Donna May Alflen in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 4, 1968 and celebrated 44 years together.



Ron grew up in Wampum, Pennsylvania before moving to California where he lived in Buena Park, Lynwood, and La Mirada. He faithfully served his country in both the United States Navy and the United States Army. He eventually owned his own business as a mechanic. He loved reading, watching TV and gardening. He was also active in the VFW.



Ron is survived by his wife, Donna May Childs; his children, Kenneth Chambless, Kelly Chambless, Rachelle Merchain, and Diane Espinoza; his sister, Pamela Agnew Kidd; his aunt, Barbara Barr; and numerous cousins.



A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11:30AM at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 Philadelphia St., Whittier, CA 90601.
