Mr. Robert (Poppy) Glen Steele

Robert Poppy Glen Steele born July 29, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana and moved to Whittier in 1966 passed away January 21, 2014 at the age of 86. Robert is a WWII Veteran and a lifetime member of VFW Post 3752, Santa Fe Springs, California.



Poppy enjoyed reading, history, old movies, going to Los Alamitos Race Track, trips to Arizona with his son & daughter-in-law (Jim & Jeannine), his nightly calls from his daughter and talking about sports with the grandkids.



He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita and son Bruce. The surviving family includes: daughter, Alice Schattilly (Steve) from Las Vegas, Nevada and sons Robert Steele II (Marilyn) from Indianapolis, Indiana; James Steele (Jeannine) from Whittier, California; Charles Steele (Karen) from Manteca, California. He leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.



In Heaven Poppy joined Nanny for their 67th Wedding Anniversary on January 22, 2014. They will be buried together at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
