Mr. Richard Ralph Zinn

Richard Ralph Zinn, 90, passed away on February 18, 2013 in Fullerton, California. Born in Whittier on February 10, 1923, Richard was born to Ralph & Margurite (Bucheim) Zinn. Richard was married to Patricia Ellen Knight on January 20, 1945 at the First United Methodist Church in Whittier. Together they had two children, Pam & Mike.



Richard was born and raised in Whittier. He attended many of the Whittier schools, including Longfellow Elementary, Jonathan Bailey School, John Muir Junior High School, and Whittier High School. Richard went on to attend Fullerton Junior College and the University of California, Davis.



Richard became a salesman for Swift & Company Meat Processing, where he worked for over 40 years. When he wasnt working, he was devoted to coaching pee wee baseball in Whittier, where he coached for 20 years. Richard also loved travelling with his wife Pat. Together they travelled internationally specifically England where Pats family is from as well as domestically. Among their most memorable vacations was the Tauck Tours they took in New England.



Richard is survived by his wife, Pat; his children, Pam (Gary) Mauss & Mike (Teri) Zinn; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.



A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 10:00AM at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 Philadelphia St., Whittier, CA 90601. Interment will immediately follow the funeral at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier.
