Richard Newton Arrington was born on March 11, 1934 in El Dorado, Arkansas, to George and Billie Lou (Beckham) Arrington. He passed away on January 13, 2014 at the age of 79, in Whittier, California.
His early years were spent in Arkansas before his father got a job at B.F, Goodrich Tire Company in 1946. He family lived in East Los Angeles at that time, and Richard graduated from Garfield High School.
Following his graduation Richard enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served our country for four years.
After his military commitment, he attended Fullerton Junior College and then went on to graduate from the University of California Los Angeles, with a Bachelor of Science degree.
His primary occupation of some 30 years, was a tax consultant for Sears and Robuck Company.
He had an abiding faith in God and attended the Methodist Church.
Richard's hobbies included watching UCLA sports as well as always rooting for all the West Coast teams.
With a passion for travel, he and Sharolyn have traveled the world including Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Scandanavian countries., Austalia, New Zealand, and Tahiti, to mention a few.
His favorite destinations included Japan and Tahiti.
Richard is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharolyn, his daughter, Wendy Arrington, borther in Germany,George, along with many friends and associates.
