Pablo Valencia, 77, passed away early on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier, California. He was born on April 19, 1936 in Juarez, Mexico and was raised on his grandparents farm. He married Grace Valdez on September 11, 1954 in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and together they had four children, Paul, Ralph, Irma, and Grace.
As a young man, Pablo came to the United States where he attended & graduated from Bowie High School in El Paso, Texas. It was soon after his graduation that he became skilled in printing by beginning his work in lithographs at a hospital. He eventually moved to Los Angeles where he attended the Los Angeles Trade Technical College and received additional training in lithographic printing. While the schooling he received gave him the technical skills to accomplish his work, it was really Pablos love of color and his attention to detail that made him a true artist & craftsman at what he did. His family recounts that nothing left his desk, having his approval, unless it was absolutely perfect; it had to be right. His passion for his work spilled over into the lives of many of his family members, including his sons, whom he partnered with in a printing business in the City of Industry. His legacy even continues to his grandchildren, many of whom have inherited his artistic skills. His work in printing was not the only thing that Pablo had a passion for. He also loved to paint, earning many awards and recognitions for his entries in different art exhibits. And any of his family members could tell you that Pablo loved music, especially Latin & Jazz.
Pablo is survived by his wife, Grace Valencia; his four children, Paul (Yolanda) Valencia, Ralph (Dee) Valencia, Irma (Dave) Mogelberg, and Grace (Jody) Valencia; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
