Leonard Joseph Campion, 'Len,' was born on September 28, 1917 to Joseph and Helen Campion in New Haven, Connecticut where he grew up.
On February 23, 1942 Leonard married Agnes Daly at St. Josephs in New Haven, Connecticut. Later that same year, He proudly joined the ranks to serve his country as a member of the U.S. Army from 1942-1945 where he served as a Warrant Officer during World War II.
Len was a devout Catholic man and was involved at St. Josephs Parish and the Knights of Columbus in New Haven, Connecticut and most recently involved at St. Brunos Catholic Church in Whittier, California.
Len loved his Big Band music, his large family and all gatherings wherever food was served.
Leonard and his wife, Agnes, raised a family of twelve children in their 66 years of marriage before Agnes passed away in 2010. Leonard is now survived by eleven of his twelve children and their families. His survivors include his daughters: Virginia (Tom) Noonan, Suzanne (Tony) Falaro and Mary Campion-Leon, his sons: James, Kevin (Janice), Paul (Susan), Leonard Jr., Andrew (Jenny), Gerard (Meg), Vincent (Donna), David (Janette) and William Campion who preceded him in death, 36 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
There will be a public viewing time on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 12:00-2:00PM at White Emerson Mortuary, a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 9:30am followed by an Interment at Riverside National Cemetery at 12:31pm.
