Frank Forrester Malone, 91, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2015 in Long Beach, California. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on March 3, 1923, Frank was born to James Briceland & Ida Grace (Beatty) Malone. Frank was married to Marguerite McCormick on April 30, 1947 in Pennsylvania and together they had four children, Frank, Maureen, Brandy & Sean. He will be missed greatly by his friends and family.
Frank grew up in Pittsburgh. At the age of 19, he enlisted himself in the U.S. Army Air Corps to serve his country during WWII. He was a Sergeant in the 1332nd Army Air Force Air Transport Command. He was stationed in China, Burma and India until he was discharged from the military in 1945. He received the Good Conduct Medal and served his country faithfully.
After his years in the service, Frank worked as a Greyhound bus driver. Eventually, he would come to work for a building materials company (now known as Sequentia, Inc.) where he became the Western Regional Sales Manager. After his retirement, he didnt stop working: he drove to deliver new motor homes to their retailers across the US. Throughout the course of his life, Frank lived in Pennsylvania and Ohio before moving to California.
Frank had many interests throughout his life. He enjoyed restoring wooden furniture, working in his garage, and planting vegetables in his garden. Of course, none of this was as enjoyable as taking road trips and spending time with his family. Frank worked hard throughout his life so he could be an excellent provider for his family. These special times of being together will be missed by his family who survives him.
He is survived by his wife, Marguerite; his children, Frank, Maureen, Brandy his grandchildren, Megan, Ryan, Breana, Derek as well as his sister, Ida.
