Mr. Benjamin Garcia Gutierrez

Benjamin Benjas Garcia Gutierrez, 49, passed away in Corona, California on Tuesday, November 4, 2014. Born on April 1, 1965, Benjamin was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico to his parents, Jesus & Maria (Gutierrez) Garcia. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family.



Benjamin or Benjas as he was affectionately called was born the youngest of all his siblings. He grew up and attended school in Guadalajara, Mexico where he completed high school. In 1979 he met his future wife, Lupe, and in 1985 they had their first daughter, Susan. It wasnt until 1990 that he moved his family to California, and shortly thereafter welcomed his second daughter, Rebeca. In 1992, his third & youngest daughter, Jessica, was born. He was always very proud of his daughters and all that they meant to him in his life.



Most of Benjamins working years were spent in the printing industry. For a few years he also opened and maintained a gift shop in Los Angeles. Some of his enjoyments in life included cooking, reading and watching soccer, although there was nothing he loved more than spending time with his grandchildren. In 2012 his first grandson, James, was born. Later that year he was blessed with his second grandchild, Steven. His last years of life were spent living with his oldest daughter and tending to his role as a grandfather. He was a very noble, friendly, and caring man who was liked by everyone who crossed paths with him.



He is survived by his daughters, Susan (Albert) Sarabia, Rebeca Garcia, and Jessica Garcia; his grandsons, James Marco Garcia Angon and Steven Alexander Sarabia; his siblings, Patricia Lopez Garcia, Ruben Garcia Gutierrez, Alfonso Garcia Gutierrez, Maria de Jesus Garcia Gutierrez, Alicia Garcia Gutierrez, Jose Luis Garcia Gutierrez, Martha Mercado Garcia, and Javier Garcia Gutierrez; and many nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly.



A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 9:00AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8545 Norwalk Blvd., Whittier, CA 90606. A Viewing will be held the night prior, Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 5:00PM 8:00PM at White Emerson Mortuary, 13304 Philadelphia St., Whittier, CA 90601. A Rosary will be said during the Viewing at 7:00PM at the mortuary.
