Alex Gonzales was born to Juan and Sylvia (Coronado) Gonzales on September 18, 1931 in San Fernando, California. He passed away on April 14, 2013 at the age of 81.
Alex grew up in East Los Angeles and graduated from Roosevelt High School. He then joined the Army and spent three years in the Korean War. He received many citations inclulding, Presidential Citation, Korean War Service medal, United Nations Service medal, and the Bronze Service medal. His mission was on the front lines as a truck driver of heavy ammunition.
Following his release from the Army, Alex met Dorothy Davis where he defended her from being thrown into a swimming pool. He took her home and asked for a date. The rest was history as they were married a couple of months later. They have been married for 53 years and have lived in Montebello, East Los Angeles, Pico Rivera and Whittier for he last 20 years.
Alex was an avid 49 Niners fan and has an extensive collection of memorabilia.
He was a storey teller, great family man, good provider, and always there for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, and children, John Gonzales, Debbie Roblereo, Kathy Roblereo and Raymond Gonzales, along with 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
