Mona Alcala passed away from this earthly realm into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 31, 2021 at 12:25 pm at the age of 75 years old in Whittier, California. Mona was a caring, helpful, considerate, generous, fearless, and strong-minded person. Mona always spoke her mind, which at times might have been harsh, but she meant well and was always encouraging others. She helped everyone in any way possible to the best that she could, whether she came to you physically to help or gave financially. When she set her mind to do something, she would not stop until it was completed.
Mona loved to garden, sew, and read her bible. She loved music and instruments and took lessons in keyboards, cello and violin. Mona singed in the choir at her church, served in the children's ministry, and in many other areas of the church. Mona was an electronic assembler by profession for 30 years, and after retirement, she became a loving caregiver to the elderly... little did she know one day she too would need that loving care - special thanks to Dr. Wu and all the nurses and staff at Whittier Pacific Care Center.
Mona is survived by her son; Salvador Alcala, Jr., her daughter; Sandra Acosta, her son-in-law; Ray Acosta, her four grandsons; Raymond Esquivel, Raymond Acosta, Paul Acosta, Matthew Acosta, her six brothers; Manuel, Raul, Mario, Armando, Felipe, Javier and her 2 sisters; Maria and Patricia, and many nieces and nephews.
Mona, I am proud to have called you, My Mother. We will all deeply miss you and you will forever be in our hearts
