Michael Lara was born on May 30, 1945, in Los Angeles, California to Fidel and Lupe Lara. Michael grew up and attended Gardena High School. After graduating, Michael, known as "Mike" or "The Legend" to is close friends and family enlisted into the United States Army and served his country for 4 years. He was stationed in Germany, was certified by the United States Army School, Europe - Communications Electronics Department on July 21, 1967.
Upon returning home he married Virginia Chavez on February 28, 1970. They started their life together and welcomed one child Lena. Mike worked in the Construction field in 1969 thru 1972 then went on to work at Pico Rivera School District as an Electronic Technician, thereafter Mike went on to work with a company as a Computer/Electronic Technician in 1974 where he traveled back in forth to San Francisco and serviced all southern California banks. Mike established his own business Lara's Business Machines, for many years until retiring.
Mike loved to work on computers, repair and install electronic devices. Listening to his ranchera music. He also loved going to Frys Electronic Store to shop for the newest electronic devices
Mike is survived by his wife, Virginia Lara, daughter, Lena Thompson, sister, Linda Chavez, Son-in-Law, Jeff Thompson, his four Grandchildren, Amorette Martinez, Violet (Via) Thompson, Elliott Thompson, Vincent Thompson, and his great-granddaughter Amorina Martinez-Rojas.
