Born in Calcutta, India, Michael was raised in India, England and Canada. He graduated from Loyola High School and entered the Jesuit Seminary. He left the Seminary at age 21 and then graduated from the University of Montreal. In 1964 he emigrated to the United States, became a citizen and later graduated from the UCLA School of Law with honors in 1969. That same year he met the love of his life, Dianna, and they were married in 1970.
In 1976 their beautiful daughter, Lauren, was born. Michael was an attorney with the Office of the Los Angeles County Deputy Public Defender and later entered private practice with his best friend, Donald Calabria. In 1976 he was appointed Los Angeles County Superior Court Commissioner and in 1993 Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge. He served as a Judicial Officer for 43 years and retired in 2000.
His daughter, Lauren, and two grandsons, Cody and Chase, were the joy of his life.
He treasured his family and wide circle of friends. He enjoyed writing, singing, playing the piano, acting and traveling the world with his Dianna.
Please keep him in your heart and prayers.
