Mary P. Patti Blais, 75, passed away in Yorba Linda, California on Thursday, October 1, 2015. Born on August 31, 1940, in Easton, Pennsylvania, Patti was born to Frederick & Mary (Murphy) Rathstone. On October 21, 1961, she married Richard L. Blais and together they celebrated over 53 years of marriage and had six children. She will be missed beyond words.
Born in Pennsylvania, Patti grew up in Panorama City, California. She attended St. Genevieve Elementary School near Van Nuys before graduating from Bellermine-Jefferson High School in Burbank. It was only a few short years after high school that she was married to her Lov, (correctly spelled), Richard Blais. During the years that followed, she worked as a bank teller for Bank of America, and with her husband, they lived in Camarillo, Ojai, and finally settled in Yorba Linda, CA. She was a resident of Yorba Linda for 38 years.
Patti enjoyed bowling, playing cards, golfing, and a good crossword puzzle. She loved to read. She also loved remodeling things, and a good garage sale. Her favorite vacation destination was Huntington Lake. Her faith was also very important to her; she was involved with the St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church for many years, and also supported the Pope John Paul II Polish Center (both in Yorba Linda). While all of her activities kept her busy there was nothing she was more proud of than raising her six children and helping the young mothers in own family raise theirs. She was a great supporter of all her familys activities.
Patti is survived by her husband, Richard; her children, Mitch, Domine, Jason, Morgan, Chad sixteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her brother, Butch Rathstone.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 16th, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, Yorba Linda.
