Mary Ann Crague
June 4, 1926 - August 17, 2021
Mary was born in Weirton, West Virginia on June 4th 1926, to Rose and Ralph Tedesco. She always shared fond memories of growing up on Avenue C with her brothers and sister; Guy, Dominic and Philomene (Phil).
She met the love of her life, Donald (Pete) Crague after WWII at a dance and they were married on October 17, 1953. Shortly after, they joined Mary's cousins in a move out West to California and resided in Lynwood. They bought their home in Whittier in 1961, where Mary lived until the day she passed. Although the majority of her life was spent in California, Mary loved West Virginia and would take many trips back to visit family throughout the years while her parents were still alive.
In California, Mary enjoyed many successful years working for Pacific Bell/AT&T. She and Pete had one daughter, Dana (Crague) Denis. Mary lost Pete at the early age of 46, which was devastating for her. In time, she regained her positive spirit and her Catholic faith became strengthened in the process.
Mary loved to read above all things. Books took her places and provided experiences and adventures. She also enjoyed baking and was famous among family and friends for her chocolate cake, brownies and many other delectable treats. She collected recipe books and always loved trying and sharing recipes.
Mary is survived by her sister, Philomene Tedesco; her daughter and husband, Dana and John Denis; and her grandchildren Kyle Denis and Riley Denis.
