Stella 'Marie' Hall was born April 25, 1922 in Englewood, Tennessee to James Horace and Ecca Clerecy (Presswood) Cline. She passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at her home in Whittier, California.Marie grew up and went to school in Etowah, Tennessee. Etowah, Cherokee for 'Happy Valley', was just that for Marie. Just out of school, Marie married Maurice C. Hall on March 22, 1940. They made their home in Etowah where Marie remained while Maurice went off to war.Following the war, Marie and her family lived in Chicago and Germany where Maurice was stationed. After his discharge they moved to Texas where Maurice went to school. Ministry with The Church of Christ then became their life. From France to Tennessee, Michigan, Vietnam, Kansas and Whittier, California, they shared the gospel and touched so many lives.Marie loved her family. She enjoyed sewing, ironing, and traveling in the ministry with her husband.Mrs. Hall is survived by her dear husband of 72 years, Maurice; sons, James (Sheri) and Ronald (Sheryl) Hall; grandchildren, Bill (Lara), Kevin, Danny, Chad (Kim), Chase, and Bethanne; and one great-grandchild, Grace. She was preceded in death by her son, 1st Lt. William G. Hall, USMC, who died in Vietnam.A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Whittier Church of Christ, 8155 Painter Ave., Whittier, California. Interment will take place on a later date at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
